On Mar 18, 2023, the federal government published proposed changes to the Regulations Amending the Health of Animals (Identification and Traceability) in the Canada Gazette. This has launched a consultation period until June 16, 2023.
As your provincial and national associations, we have collaborated on this topic for several years as we have flagged issues that will affect our industry significantly.
We have launched our position statement with calls to action. Please submit comments and send a letter using our tools in order to effect change by taking action here: https://www.canadianfairs.ca/livestock-traceability
IMPORTANT: It is very important that Agricultural Societies and their members submit their comments on the proposed changes to the Livestock Traceability regulations.
CAFE is holding a Zoom webinar on April 11 at 7 pm to provide step-by-step instructions on how to submit comments in the CFIA Canada Gazette.
